The Patrol Division is perhaps one of the most noticeable groups within the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office. The Patrol Division responds to calls for service received through the Frederick County Emergency Communications Center and engages in proactive traffic enforcement seeking both safer roads and uniformed vehicular-related compliance. Patrol Deputies also answer questions, address issues, and engage with citizens while out in the community. The Patrol Division has three shifts that provide 24 / 7 / 365 law enforcement coverage to the people, businesses, and visitors of Frederick County year-round. Other branches / members of the Patrol Division include Animal Control Officers, K9 Handlers, Traffic Division Units and Volunteer Reserve Deputies.
