Below are the party abbreviations (and their explanations) in the way and order determined by Virginia Code 24.2-613 and the State Board of Elections for the November 4, 2025, General and Special Elections.

D = Democratic Party
R = Republican Party

F = Forward Party
L = Libertarian Party

I = Independent Party

Virginia Code 24.2-613(B) provides that political party identification be shown on the ballot for federal, statewide, and General Assembly offices only.  Political party identification does not appear on the ballot for any other office.
