Frederick County does not have a centralized purchasing department; however, the Finance Department assists the County in purchasing required goods and services in conformance with the Virginia Public Procurement Act and the Board of Supervisors Policies and Regulations.

Purchases in the amount of $50,000 or greater require formal procurement through advertised sealed competitive bidding. The Finance Department issues Invitations for Bids (IFB) and Requests for Proposals (RFP).  Proposal notices will appear in a local newspaper ten (10) days prior to the date set to receive proposals and be posted on eVA. Bid notices will only be posted on eVA.  Award notices will be posted on eVA.

Visit the Doing Business and Selling to Us webpages for County policies, processes and procedures.
