Robert Liero was appointed to the Board of Supervisors on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, to fill the unexpired term of the Shawnee District Supervisor. He won a special election held November 5, 2024 and his current term ends December 31, 2025.

Mr. Liero served in the Virginia Army National Guard for 21 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. His career in education spanned 37 years, with 13 years as a teacher and 24 years as an administrator. He was Millbrook High School assistant principal from 2003 through 2016, then assistant principal at the Dowell J. Howard Center from 2016 until his retirement in June of 2023. Both are part of Frederick County Public Schools.

Mr. Liero serves on the Finance Committee; Human Resources Committee, Chair; Technology Committee; Transportation Committee; serves as liaison Planning Commission and the Parks and Recreation Commission; Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission.
