CLEAR BROOK, VA: Frederick County Parks and Recreation and the Blue Ridge Volleyball Association are proud to announce the grand opening of three new sand volleyball courts at Clearbrook Park. The event will take place on Saturday, April 27 beginning at 1:00 pm.
Following is the schedule for the event:
1 - 3 pm
Youth sand volleyball demos and open play with Blue Ridge Volleyball Association
2:30 - 4 pm
Adult open play
The Grand Opening is free and open to the public! The new courts are in the northwestern section of the park, by the Kiwanis Club shelters. Parking is available in the outdoor pool parking lot at 130 Poolside Drive. Jason Robertson, Director of the Parks and Recreation Department explains that “the addition of the new courts is a public/private venture by the parks department and the Blue Ridge Volleyball Association with the association spending $40,000 to upgrade the existing volleyball court and build two new courts.”
The Blue Ridge Volleyball Association will be able to reserve the courts two weekday nights each week and one Saturday a month for free for 10 years. The public may reserve the courts for $10 per for a minimum of two hours. If no one has reserved the courts, they are free to use.
