From Frederick Water: As extremely dry conditions persist throughout the Commonwealth, every region is experiencing some level of drought. Frederick Water joins the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, the Virginia Department of Health, and state officials in encouraging voluntary non-essential water conservation.
Frederick County businesses and residents are encouraged to minimize non-essential water use, including those receiving Frederick Water services and those relying on private wells. Frederick Water is fortunate to have a variety of raw water sources and quarry reservoirs, but those reservoirs could be depleted quickly under excessive demand. We ask the community to act now to avoid the impacts of severe drought in the future.
