Shockey provides comprehensive construction services, including general contracting, construction management (agency and at-risk), and design-build. Its services portfolio also includes extensive expertise in Building Information Modeling, Virtual Design & Construction, and public-private partnerships.

Shockey is known for building large, complex, and multi-phased projects across a broad spectrum of markets, including education, healthcare, senior living, civic, and industrial. A small projects division provides the highest caliber of customer service and quality for small and mid-sized jobs in the northern Shenandoah Valley’s civic, cultural, judicial, religious, and historic renovation markets.

The company has experienced substantial growth. With about 150 employees, Shockey has consistently added new hires who bring skill, experience, and cultural fit to the team. Shockey offers team members a comprehensive and competitive benefits package designed to support overall health, financial security, and work-life balance. Benefits include company-paid life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) coverage, short-term and long-term disability insurance, with optional supplemental life insurance available.

Employees may enroll in medical, dental, and vision coverage and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) with a company contribution. A Wellness Center is available for use by all employees and their dependents. 

In addition, Shockey provides paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, bereavement pay, jury duty pay, and paid family and medical leave. Employees are also eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) profit-sharing retirement plan.

Shockey has also served as the general contractor on numerous facilities in the greater Frederick County, Virginia, area, including The HIVE (below), James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center and Health Professions building at Shenandoah University.

Other notable local projects include a new manufacturing facility and warehouse for locally-headquartered Trex. Shockey is currently serving as the GC on Valley Health’s Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Center and the Behavioral & Mental Health Pavilion.

Shockey has also constructed all phases of the The Village at Orchard Ridge campus.
