In addition to the fires in Raven Wing subdivision on April 29, on May 1, 2025, at approximately 11:50 PM Frederick County Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire at 203 Yale court in the College Park subdivision. When Fire and Rescue arrived, they found a small fire on the exterior of the covered porch. The engine crew quickly extinguished the fire and contacted the on-call Assistant Fire Marshal to investigate.
During the investigation of the fire at 203 Yale court the Assistant Fire Marshal and the on-duty Battalion Chief noticed light smoke coming from the rear of 103 Vassar Circle in the College Park subdivision, the property directly behind 203 Yale court. Upon investigating the smoke’s origin, they discovered a small fire at the rear of the structure that was smoldering. The Battalion Chief retrieved their water extinguisher from their vehicle and completely extinguished the fire. An engine company was dispatched from station 21, Millwood Station, to check for extension into the structure. The homeowners were home at the time and were not injured. The Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the origin and cause of both addresses and has ruled out all accidental and natural causes, therefore both fires are classified as arson.
