Planning Ahead: Transportation Throughout Frederick County

The Frederick County Transportation Committee will be hosting its third annual transportation forum on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 along with the Board of Supervisors, State officials, the County Department of Planning & Development Staff, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The Transportation Forum will open at 6:30 p.m. and close at approximately 8:30 p.m. at the County Government Offices (107 N. Kent Street, Winchester).
The purpose of this forum is to provide an opportunity to the public to interact directly with state and local leaders, to provide information to the public on current and future transportation projects, and solicit feedback from the public on transportation issues and other concerns of significance in Frederick County. Topics to be discussed may include but are not limited to:
Transportation funding and allocation of limited County resources
Local transportation projects and programs
Interstate 81 and
Additional topics as presented by those in attendance
John Bishop, Assistant Director, Transportation, Frederick County Department of Planning & Development looks forward to hearing from citizens and businesses alike “as public input plays an important role in future planning and programming related to transportation in Frederick County.” Doors will open to the public at 6:30 p.m. with interaction between elected officials, public, and staff until approximately 7:30 at which time a public comment/question and answer period will be held.
